The ideal time to visit the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve is during the dry season (December to April). The warm, dry weather is perfect for outdoor adventures. To maximize your wildlife encounters, we recommend visiting early in the morning when the animals are most active.

  • Nature Trails: Embark on guided nature trails through the rainforest, led by knowledgeable guides who can point out diverse flora and fauna. 
  • Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for monkeys, sloths, colorful birds, and other fascinating creatures. 
  • Boat Tours: Take a boat tour on the Chagres River, enjoying stunning views of the rainforest and the Panama Canal. 
  • Canopy Tour: Experience the rainforest from above on a thrilling canopy tour, zipping through the treetops. 

For your visit to Gamboa, wear light, breathable clothing and sturdy walking shoes, as you’ll be outdoors in warm, tropical weather. A hat and sunglasses are recommended to shield yourself from the sun. Bring sunscreen, a water bottle to stay hydrated, and a camera to capture the wildlife!

By public transportation, take a bus from Albrook Mall in Panama City to Gamboa. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Or hire a taxi or book a private transfer for a more convenient and direct journey.
