Portobelo

In Colón province, facing the Caribbean Sea, lies Portobelo. Legend says Columbus named it for its beauty, with deep blue seas, white beaches, and lush green forests and mangroves. You’ll recognize Portobelo by the ruins of a Spanish castle and old cannons. The forts that once defended it from pirates are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
